According to officials, the state of Mississippi has just discovered a mighty big marijuana farm operation with 20,000 marijuana plants.

The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics raided the farm operation on Thursday and Friday of this week and uncovered over $20 million (in street value) of marijuana.

According to the MBN Director, John Dowdy, there were over 15,000 marijuana plants uncovered on Thursday, in the woods off of Polk Oatis Road in Jefferson Davis County. Some reaching as high as 7 feet. On Friday 5,000 more plants were discovered in a patch.

“This is very similar to the cartel grows we see out west,” Dowdy remarked.

“This is hands down the biggest marijuana grow operation we’ve seen in the state in probably 35-40 years.”

Officials on the scene have said the plants were growing on six fields that were on an estimated four to six acres.

Jefferson Davis County Sheriff Ron Strickland commented, “It feels good to know that whoever had this operation going will be out of business for a while,” said Jefferson Davis County Sheriff Ron Strickland.
