A man in Vail is probably feeling a little foolish after responding to a Craigslist ad for an SUV and offering to pay for it with marijuana.

The SUV belongs to Teller County Sheriff Jason Mikesell who laughed at the proposal.

He said, “You want to know the truth? I saw that text, and I started giggling.”

The man, Shawn Langley, offered four pounds of marijuana for the SUV.

Mikesell explained, “I was really surprised and I thought at first, ‘Maybe this is a joke.”

He set up a meeting in Woodland Park to trade the SUV for the pot, where both

Langley and Jane Cravens were arrested by undercover detectives.

The authorities said the four pounds of illegal marijuana were found in their car.
