According to a poll, marijuana consumers are spending over $100 each month on legal marijuana.

The new New Jersey-based LendEDU poll polled 1,000 consumers and found that the average consumer of legal pot spends $111.05 a month on it.

Out of these consumers, 27.6% of them said they spend more money a month on legal marijuana than they do on eating out.

“The point to be made is that in states where marijuana has become recreationally legal, the consumption of the drug has become both a priority and lifestyle choice,” wrote LendEDU research analyst Mike Brown.

According to Brown, 50% of the consumers surveyed even add marijuana to their monthly budget.

He also wrote, “Because of an over-saturated market where marijuana retail stores are as common as the Golden Arches of McDonalds, people have more access to make purchases than at any other point in history. This access has simultaneously led to more consumers buying more cannabis products, but at a cheaper price thanks to competition and less costs for the marijuana retailers.”
