According to a study by 24/7 Wall St., a financial news company, it could be the state of Illinois that becomes the next state to legalize marijuana.

The publication published the study recently which ranked the state as one of “the next 15 states to legalize marijuana. According to the study, “few states seem as poised to legalize recreational marijuana use as Illinois.”

The report also said that “marijuana sales could add to state coffers an estimated $566 million in excise tax revenue per year and as much as $133 million in sales tax revenue annually.”
