According to authorities in Alabama, a mother has been charged with chemical endangerment of a child this week after her baby girl tested positive for marijuana.

22-year old Shimar Reynolds was arrested this month and placed in Morgan County Jail on a $2,500 bond. The mother had given birth to a baby girl on July 17th in Decatur Morgan Hospital Parkway Campus where the child had tested positive for marijuana.

An investigation had been opened that included the Morgan County Department of Human Resources and the police.

The mother had been fully aware that she was pregnant but kept smoking marijuana anyway.
