Recently Nevada’s Legislative Counsel Bureau has given the “OK” to allowing marijuana in public places as long as the user is of legal age.
The Bureau has said that cities and counties can be responsible for creating their own ordinances that govern the use of marijuana in businesses.
It was on July 1st that the state started to allow legal adults 21 and over to buy marijuana but the law restricted the use to just private residences.
State Sen. Tick Segerblom, D-Las Vegas, had said, “I think Vegas is perfect for this. That’s what we do. We regulate vices.””
“We’re inviting 40 million people to come here and buy marijuana, but then we turn around and say there’s no place to use it,” Segerblom remarked.
According to Segerblom, the marijuana lounges could be standalone venues that have dispensaries which are similar to the coffee shops in Amsterdam that sell edibles.
