I don’t know what’s better than ice cream personally, but it looks like marijuana could be it.

According to a new report from Marijuana Business Daily, the demand for marijuana could grow so large that it could reach $45-50 billion, including the black market.
Consider this right now. Ice cream sales annually are at $5.1 billion. This means the demand for marijuana could be 10 fold what it is for ice cream.

According to the report, “If the federal government legalized marijuana nationwide, sales might start out at around that level but would likely quickly rise as cannabis gained mainstream acceptance and the market evolved.”

Last year, legal recreational and medical cannabis sales were $4.0-$4.5 billion.
“On the recreational side of the business, the originally legalized states are still posting massive growth,” said Chris Walsh, editor of the report. “The demand for marijuana is so enormous in this country.”

The report has also said, “To put this in perspective, there are now more marijuana workers than there are bakers or massage therapists in the United States.”

According to the report, for every dollar that consumers spend at a dispensary, it means $3 in economic benefits for the cities, states, and nationwide. No wonder there has been so much emphasis on how marijuana could help the economy.
