The very first iteration of the Marijuana Business Conference had only around 400 people back in 2012 in Denver, Colorado.

Considering that since then, 13 more states have legalized medical weed, compared to the 16 states then, there are a lot more people interested in marijuana.

The Las Vegas Convention Center will home the convention from Wednesday to Friday and it could see upwards of 17,000 people according to Chris Walsh, the vice president of editorial and strategic development for Marijuana Business Daily.

The MJbizCon has said of itself that it is the “world’s largest gathering” of marijuana executives and vendors each year.

It may not be as big as CES, but it’s still quite substantial.

The conference began when editors at Marijuana Business Daily believed there was a need to bring executives in the industry together and to perhaps find some investors.

Today the convention can fit thousands of new attendees at the Las Vegas Convention Center and almost 700 marijuana related exhibits as well as over 100 speakers.
