States with legal medical marijuana can rest easy for awhile.

It was on Friday that President Trump signed into law a $1.3 trillion federal spending bill that also includes an extension of a statute called the Rohrabacher-Blumenauer Amendment that prohibits the Department of Justice from interfering in state medical marijuana programs. At least for another six months that is.
In September Congress will have to approve a new federal budget or an extension of the one it just signed.

This was the 11th time that the Rohrabacher-Blumenauer Amendment was approved or renewed by Congress since it first passed in 2014.
