Michigan’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs released an official symbol this week that will be displayed on medical marijuana products.

The symbol, which is shaped like an inverted triangle, is green in color and has a marijuana plant in the middle of it. The symbol also features the text, “CONTAINS THC.”

THC is the main psychoactive component in cannabis.

Any product sold under the Medical Marijuana facilities Licensing act will contain the symbol.

Marijuana that is sold by or transferred to a provisioning center in the state must have the label and must also contain 1. the name of the licensee and license number of the producer and/or the packager. 2. The tag or source number as assigned by the statewide monitoring system. 3. The unique identification number for the package or the harvest, if applicable. 4. Date of harvest, name of strain, net weight, and concentration of THC or CBD and 5. Activation time expressed in words or through a pictogram.
