It was an encouraging day for marijuana fans on Tuesday when New Hampshire House of Representatives voted to legalize the drug.

The House voted 162 to 183 against killing the bill and then voted 207 to 139 to pass an amended version of a legalization bill.

The bill, which will allow adults over the age of 21 to legally possess three-quarters of an ounce of marijuana and to grow up to three mature cannabis plants at home, is now expected to move to the state Senate.

Rep. Frank Sapareto of Derry, said that the “war on pot” should be over.

The bill will not allow retail sale locations.
