The New Mexico Department of Health has revealed that as of December 2017, there were almost 50,000 patients enrolled in the state’s Medical Cannabis Program.

Compared to the number in 2016, this was a 61% increase.

New Mexico was the 12th state in the nation to legalize the drug for medicinal purposes in 2007.

The state has 35 licensed nonprofit producers of medical marijuana which includes Ultra Health, the largest medical marijuana company in New Mexico last year.

The company saw $10.5 million in revenue last year and announced that it is building New Mexico’s largest marijuana cultivation campus in the city of Tularosa that’s expected to open in 2019.
