You won’t see any marijuana at this year’s Orange County Fair despite California legalizing the sale of recreational marijuana in January.

Costa Mesa prohibits the retail sale of marijuana and marijuana products and the fair is located at the Costa Mesa fairgrounds.

The Orange County Fair Board adopted a final policy this week that bans cannabis-related events and the sale of the drug or any products or paraphernalia at the Costa Mesa fairgrounds.

The board voted 5-0 to approve the new regulations.

The board has also decided to prohibit events at the OC Fair & Event Center from “including cannabis products or activities, cannabis-related products or activities or drug paraphernalia.”

The board also prohibits sponors or vendors and exhibitors from including “any promotion, information or advertisement from cannabis dispensaries or third parties that sell or promote cannabis-related products or drug paraphernalia.”
