Ohio stands to make a lot of money from legalized marijuana. The buckeye state just issued its first licenses for small growing marijuana facilities last week and has made more than $2 million so far.
More medical marijuana growing operations are expected to pop up throughout Northeast Ohio and there could be a lot more money made.
According to Dr. Matthew Noyse, who was one of the fourteen applications approved last Friday, “Certainly ecstatic, it’s a lot of it just because of all the effort.”
“The buildings are all sufficient, they are all capable of taking on this type of endeavor,” he said.
Dr. Noyse had been granted a level two permit that means he can only grow the drug in a 1,600 square foot area. The level one permits have yet to be granted, and those will allow for growing in 25,000 square foot spaces.
