The misconception of many marijuana users is that they are lazy and not successful in life. It’s a stereotype that has been made known through television and movies, but it’s one that could be totally wrong.

According to a study conducted by market researchers BDS Analytics, marijuana users are actually very satisfied and successful.

The researchers surveyed consumers and abstainers in two US states, California and Colorado. Both states have voted to legalize marijuana recreation-ally. The study covered many factors including social and financial.

In the state of California, the study concluded that 20 percent of consumers had graduated with a master’s degree. For those who didn’t want to consider trying marijuana, the number was only 12 percent. Household income for consumers was $93,800 while abstainers had a figure of $70,000.

In Colorado, 64% of marijuana users had a full time job compared to 54% of abstainers and 36% of consumers said they were “very social” while only 28% of abstainers felt this way.

Next time you think someone who smokes marijuana is lazy and unhappy with their lives, you may want to think again.
