Texas has officially just issued its first medical marijuana license to a company.

The company is Cansortium Texas which is a part of Cansortium Holdings based in Florida. Cansortium Texas received their license this past Friday according to the Austin American-Statesman.

With this license, the company will be allowed to grow, process, and sell medical marijuana to patients who have a rare form of epilepsy.

Cansortium Holdings CEO Jose Hidalgo is humbled by the license. The company also has medical marijuana licenses in Puerto Rico, Florida, and Pennylsvania.

Two more companies are expected to be awarded licenses in Texas soon.
