Mary J Mart on Ventura Boulevard near Oxnard California may be a pot shop, but none of the store’s products will make a person high.
The store instead of selling marijuana you can light up, is still products like lotions and potions that contain cannabidiol, or CBD. CBD is a compound found in marijuana that has no psychoactive effect.
Rhea Moore, an Oxnard resident who uses CBD for fibromyalgia commented in a VCstar article, “The first day, I remember my back just loosened up. I’m still not well but it’s refreshing to know I’m getting well.”
The store was opened by Alex Davis who said, “We want to open people’s eyes that THC is not the only part of cannabis.”
Davis is someone who has taken CBD before and has felt the benefits. Stories from others about their addictions to pain killers and those with PTSD helped impact his decision to open a store for customers looking for CBD products.
He said, “It’s a little surreal how impactful those stories are. It sends shivers down your spine.”
