Canada is set to begin legal recreational marijuana sales on October 17th and many have been gearing up for this day.

One retail giant that is considering the Canadian marijuana market is Walmart. The company is looking into selling cannabis products in its Canadian stores according to reports.

Walmart’s Canadian division is exploring the sale of marijuana products in its stores and the company has said to Bloomberg that it had carried out some “preliminary fact-finding” on carrying CBD-infused products in its stores.

“Health and wellness consumers are beginning to find value and use cases from CBD-based oil extracts, tinctures, topicals and capsules to improve everyday life,” stated Vivien Azer, an analyst at the investment bank Cowen in a note this week.

“We expect to see CBD used as a functional ingredient in non-alcoholic beverages,” Azer said.
