It was just three years ago that a medical marijuana dispensary opened up shot inside of a former T-shirt factory in Bellmawr, New Jersey.
Today it is the largest retail dispensary on the East Coast after moving to a new space. The Cureleaf dispensary is now 6,150 square feet and opened in an industrial park in Camden County, just ten miles south of Philadelphia.
The new facility is equipped to handle 1,000 patients a day according to spokesman for PalliaTech, Jordan Isenstadt. PalliaTech owns Cureleaf and operates dispensaries and cultivation centers in 11 states across the country.
Previously known as the Compassionate Sciences Alternative Treatment Center, PalliaTech changed its name to Curaleaf as part of a rebranding.
The company is planning to open a Curaleaf dispensary in Pennsylvania this fall.
“Our expansion into a larger dispensary mirrors not only Curaleaf’s growth but also the progression of medical marijuana access within the state,” said George Schidlovsky, Curaleaf New Jersey’s president.
