Whoopi Goldberg is planning on making a splash back into the cannabis industry with a product line that is named in honor of her family members.

The 65-year old ‘View’ star had ended her partnership with Maya Elisabeth on their Whoopi & Maya line last year after four years.

She is expected to share details of the new venture in the inaugural issue of Black Cannabis Magazine, of which she is the cover star.

According to a source who spoke to the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: “In the issue, she’ll reveal Emma & Clyde, her new cannabis product line… launching soon in California. Emma & Clyde is named after Whoopi’s mother and brother, and includes edibles, pre-rolls, flower and accessories.”

The magazine will launch tomorrow on April 20th.

Whoopi said: “It’s an honor to grace the very first cover of Black Cannabis Magazine… As a long-time cannabis advocate and entrepreneur, I’m happy to support the launch of a new publication focused on starting conversations and covering issues that educate, entertain, and inspire people of color in the cannabis community.”

Goldberg had said in the past that she had plans to return to the cannabis industry.
She said at the time of her departure from Elisabeth: “It is with deep regret and sadness I am announcing that I have withdrawn as a board member, manager and member of Whoopi & Maya. I am very proud of what we have accomplished together and look forward to moving ahead with other projects in the market.”

Goldberg has also made remarks on how police need to re-learn “how to police” in the wake of all of the racism occurring.

The actress said, “Well, racism is in the heart of the country. You can’t get away from it, children are taught it without realizing that that’s what they’re learning. So, the first thing that has to happen is people have to first look at people and see them for who they are, not for who they fear they are, but for who they actually are… And then, you know, the good cops have to call out bad behavior so we can get rid of the bad cops and reteach police departments around the country how to police again. Because now they’re soldiers, and we’re not in a war, we’re not in wars in our towns and neighborhoods. So, they must relearn how to police. And that is going to take the action of the federal government.”
