Alaska Department of Revenue released numbers this week for the fiscal year ended in June and the results are better than what was projected.

Alaska had collected over $11 million in marijuana tax revenue during the state’s 2018 fiscal year. This is almost $2 million more than what was projected and this is compared to the roughly $1.7 million collected during the previous fiscal year.

The department said it collected the most revenue from marijuana taxes in June at more than $1.2 million. The department expects July to break that record.
