Retailers are pushing for a new day of big sales the way Black Friday and Cyber Monday does it.

This time they are thinking green and are promoting “Green Wednesday” as an unofficial shopping holiday that will happen ahead of the other two big sales days.

Cannabis analytics company Headset found sales on Green Wednesday last year were double those of a typical Wednesday, making it the biggest cannabis holiday after 4/20.

The company, which tracks retail sales of cannabis products, also said that in Washington, Colorado, and Nevada last year, recreational sales on Green Wednesday totaled $11 million dollars.
