With the Winter Olympics in full swing, many may be wondering if the athletes are allowed to use marijuana.

The answer is no!

If an Olympic athlete were to use the drug and be caught it could mean not only a suspension but maybe the loss of a model.

Almost twenty years ago, Ross Rebagliati, a Canadian snowboard was the first Olympic gold medal winner in snowboarding. He took the gold at the 1998 Winter Games in Japan, but tested positive for marijiana. He had almost lost his medal.

Marijuana is only banned in competition only, so athletes are allowed to smoke when they are not competing.
