According to Forbes Russia, Curaleaf chairman Boris Jordan is now worth $1.1 billion.

Forbes has found that Jordan is the only billionaire so far whose fortune has come from the cannabis arena. The chairman owns a 31% stake in Curaleaf.

According to Cannabis Market Cap., Curaleaf, which is based in Massachusetts, is the sixth most valuable marijuana company in the world. The company grows and processes its own marijuana and owns and operates 48 medical marijuana dispensaries across 12 states, according to the company’s website.

Jordan has also big investments in some European and Russian-based companies through Sputnik Group, which he founded in 1998. He also is the founder of a firm focusing on investments in the marijuana industry called Measure 8 Ventures. He additionally is the chairman of Renaissance Insurance, one of the largest insurance companies in Russia.

In 2018 Jordan told Benzinga that he thinks Curaleaf is the Starbucks of cannabis.
