Terrasana Cannabis Co., the first of central Ohio’s five medical marijuana dispensaries, is finally opened.

The dispensary opened at 10 a.m. at 656 Grandview Ave., just south of Dublin Road on Tuesday.

“We’re excited about being the first to open in Columbus. We think this is a monumental moment,” said Craig Maurer, Terrasana’s co-founder, president and chief operating officer.

“It can be an overwhelming experience at first, a lot of first-time patients,” said Todd Yaross, Terrasana’s co-founder and chief executive officer. “We take great pride in that educational process so that unfortunately isn’t a two-minute process sometimes.”

The company has said that it will also open a location in Cleveland on Thursday and a Fremont location April 2. A Springfield location will open later on as well.

“It’s been a long road,” said Dr. Anurag William Kedia, Terrasana’s co-founder, chief medical officer and head of research. “I can’t describe the excitement and a little bit of trepidation that goes along with it.”

Terrasana is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ohio’s medical marijuana sales started Jan. 16th.
