Eureka, California is about to open its first medical marijuana dispensary in September.

The dispensary is called Ecological Cannabis Organization and was started by co-owners Jeff Poel and Ray Markland.

It’s an empty room right now but next month will be a dispensary selling a variety of cannabis products and merchandise including local glassware.

“We’re going to focus on sun grown cannabis because we’re you know ‘Eco-Cann’ we’re trying to do it ecologically,” said Jeff Poel.

According to Poel, both local and non-local vendors will be used for the products they will sell, but they have a plan to ensure all their products are eco-friendly.

“We have an agreement with all of our producers that are going to do things sustainably and legally.” Poel explained.

“And I plan on having an employee or myself go to every single one of our producer and look at it and inspect it.”
