Pittsburg area’s very first medical cannabis drive-thru has opened in the city of Robinson via Chicago-based Verano Holdings Corp.

The drive-thru medical cannabis store dispensary had been scheduled to open Friday in Robinson. The drive-through Healing Research Center is located on Robinson Centre Drive at the Robinson Mall.

The Healing Research Center in Robinson Township is the second dispensary under that name in the state, with the first located in Chester County. The Healing Center, a partner of the Healing Research Center, announced earlier this year that it purchased 50% equity interest in Chester County-based Agronomed Biologics which allowed for the expansion of four more Pennsylvania locations, and a grow facility.

Verano, through its subsidiary Agronomed Biologics, is permitted to open a medical marijuana cultivation and processing facility as well as six dispensaries to conduct clinical research with Drexel University in the city of Philadelphia.

In all of the United States, Pennsylvania has the fifth largest number of patients registered for use of medical marijuana in the U.S., with more than 500,000 patients.

Verano had acquired Agri-Kind LLC, Agronomed Holdings Inc., and Agronomed Biologics LLC, all in Chester, Pa.

According to the company’s website, Verano aims to be the preeminent cannabis brand, and to win the hearts, minds and loyalty of the discerning cannabis consumer.
