Despite neighboring state Illinois recently legalizing recreational marijuana, it will not be the case for Iowa.

TV9 recently discussed the issue of marijuana with Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds.

It was in the last legislative session that Reynolds had vetoed a new medical marijuana bill that would have expanded Iowa’s program. According to the Governor, the bill would have done too much to expand the use of THC. which is the psychoactive element of the drug.

“There is a lot of confusion out there and I think attorney general Miller tried to address that through the information that he put out,” said Reynolds.

According to Reynolds, Iowa’s current program is a good one and she would not be surprised if some changes are made.
