The states that allow marijuana home deliveries are limited right now to California, Oregon, and Nevada. though their programs are not all the same.

Michigan has proposed rules that medical patients who order online and pay online could get home deliveries.

Provisioning centers would be allowed to staff one person to make home deliveries, who could only deliver to three patients at a time, according to the rules. The center would also have to track the delivery’s GPS location at all times during the delivery with logs kept. Deliveries would also only be allowed to the home address of the patient.

“It’s a good rule that we can build on as the industry matures,” said Travis Copenhaver, a senior associate attorney with Cannabis Legal Group in Royal Oak. “It strikes me as a response to comments they’ve been hearing up until this point.”

“This is the structure we’ve been asking for,” said Rick Thompson, editor-in-chief of Michigan Cannabis Industries Report.
A hearing on the permanent rules is set for Sept. 17.
