According to Cannabis Community Care and Research Network CEO and co-founder Marion McNabb, the state of Massachusetts could become a leader in marijuana research.

The state is already a leader in fields ike biotech and health care so maybe marijuana could be next.

“My vision is Massachusetts could be the number one leading cannabis research state in the world,” McNabb said.

McNabb is a doctor of public health and former global health worker and sees Massachusetts’s legislation of marijuana encouraging academics as well as scientists to conduct serious research on the drug.

“Given the investment in technology, the staggering array of biotech and scientific expertise, it virtually ensures Massachusetts will be an important player,” remarked Staci Gruber, the director of MIND, Marijuana Investigations for Neuroscientific Discovery, at McLean Hospital in Belmont.

McNabb has said that Cannabis Community Care and Research Network plans to do its own research as well.
