It’ll be July 2018 when the state of Massachusetts will have marijuana shops finally open, and the state is already preparing.

It was last year that the state’s voters approved a ballot measure that legalized recreational cannabis use for adults 21 and over.

The state also had one of the longest delays in implementing the law for over a year.

Massachusetts lawmakers had put things on hold to figure out the details of the marijuana law which many critics had said was a move by conservatives to delay recreational marijuana from entering the state.

Jim Borghesani, a spokesman for the pro-legalization campaign called the state’s delay, “the worst example of Massachusetts lawmaking.”
There’s now only months to go until marijuana is finally available, and the state is looking to staff the regulatory agencies to overseen the business, whch includes inspectors.

In order to qualify to become the inspector, you must have a Bachelors’ Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Plant Pathology, or related fields. You must also have experience with cannabis as well as experience with enforcing rules and regulations and be familiar with inspection methods and techniques.

The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources’ job portal has the job listed as an “Agricultural Inspector.” It pays anywhere from $42,391 to $57,762 annually.
