The state of Massachusetts faced a big snow storm this past weekend, but it didn’t stop residents from going to buy their marijuana on Saturday.

Customers had spent a record-breaking amount of money Saturday, spending $681,053 on 15,790 recreational marijuana products. This was a record on both numbers according to the state’s Cannabis Control Commission. Seven stores were open across the state on Saturday.

Sunday was a different story however. With the rain and colder temperatures, customers spent just $188,525 on marijuana products.

It was also on Sunday that recreational sales began at an eighth store, Northeast Alternatives in Fall River.

During the previous week, from Jan. 7 to 13, customers spent $624,242 on Saturday and $454,741 on Sunday.
