A new dispensary called The Botanist opened its doors in Buffalo, New York on Monday. It is the very first dispensary in Buffalo and the third located in Erie County.

Medicinal marijuana patients who are registered with the New York State Department of Health are eligible to buy cannabis products at the dispensary.

“We’ll be selling vape cartridges, sub-lingual which is like a tincture, so like something that would be administered under the tongue, as well as capsules and also a powder that can be mixed in to a drink,” said The Botanist’s director of New York state plant operations, Sonya Parrish.

The Botanist will also have three other dispensaries downstate.

Patients can expect to pay an average range of $78 to $147 for products at the store however medicinal marijuana is not covered under health insurance due to it still being illegal on a federal level.

“When we are creating our own products which should be at the beginning of next year, we’re hoping to have a little more of a competitive mark on our products,” Parrish told News 4.
