Michigan State officials announced that an oil-based marijuana product called CBD will now be covered under the state’s medical marijuana laws.

The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs stated that state laws will now allow the sale of CBD to medical marijuana patients.

CBD has been said to provide many benefits which include aiding in chronic pain relief, anxiety, seizures, PTSD, and sleep problems. The cannabidiol does not have the high effect that comes with THC.

This fall Michigan residents may be voting on a ballot question to legalize recreational marijuana.
