The internet has created convenience in many ways and one of those ways is to get a medical marijuana card.

At least this is the case for many medical marijuana patients in Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority has approved more than 150,000 patient applications, as of July 15th and some of the recipients were able to get their cards online.

PrestoDoctor recently expanded into the state. The site is a telemedicine service that allows patients to skip goign to the doctor for a recommendation. They can instead talk to a doctor online via a secure video chat.

“At the end of the day, it’s the same exact process that you’d go through at an in-person doctor,” said Kyle Powers, CEO of PrestoDoctor. “So the doctor has the same standard of care they’d use with any other patient.”

“So telemedicine in general has become a very popular form of access for medicine, and there’s not reason why that shouldn’t apply for the cannabis industry as well,” said Bud Scott, executive director of the Oklahoma Cannabis Industry Association.

“Be as open and honest with the physician as possible and consider what their recommendations are, have a thorough assessment,” he added.
