According to a survey of roughly 9,000 American adults, most people believe that edibles are the safest form of marijuana.
The study, which was published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine, revealed that 53 percent of respondents didn’t think there was any safe form of consumption but many believed some forms were better than others. 25% of the respondents believed that edibles were the safest.
The study also revealed that nearly five times as many respondents had said that smoking marijuana at 16% was better than vaping flower at 3% or oils at 3%.
“As more states legalize recreational use of marijuana, further research assessing the safety of marijuana across its various forms is necessary to inform state regulations and public policy,” the researchers wrote.
