According to new data, cannabis seizures grew at a whopping 20% in 2016.

The DEA’s annual Domestic Cannabis Eradication/Suppression Statistical Report found that more than 5.3 million cannabis plants were confiscated by agents in the U.S. last year.

Nearly all of the plants that were seized were outdoor grown.

In California alone, the agency found that over 3.77 million cannabis plants had been seized compared to 2.64 million in 2015.

Other states to see big increases also included Texas, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
