According to a SurvivorNet Interview, NBC News senior correspondent Tom Brokaw uses marijuana.
Brokaw reportedly said he takes medical marijuana to relieve pain related to multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer.
He told SurvivorNet that he turned to marijuana in Florida. “I’m now on medical marijuana for my back, for the first time. I’ve not done that before,” he said. “But in Florida, it’s complex.”
He also said, “An extraordinary amount of progress has been made with drugs and treatment. We haven’t gotten the cost thing worked out yet,” he said. “At one point, I counted up the price and it was something like $10,000 a day, you know, that I was spending on drugs.”
“We have the ability to do it. We have the greatest resources in the world,” He added. “Let’s figure out how we can make it cost effective, how we can have a true testing program for efficiency and results, and that people will have access to those results.”
