A lot of marijuana was just seized in Australia.

It seems that police have seized nearly $1 million worth of cannabis plants from a property on the south side of Brisbane.

Detectives raided the property and found over 170 mature cannabis plants inside what they referred to as an “active and sophisticated” hydroponic house.

The people behind the set up at this Heathwood property were also believed to be stealing electricity to hide the activities, according to police.

The total value of the plants seized was almost $850,000.

There hasn’t been anyone charged yet but the police have asked anyone with information to come forward and to contact Crime Stoppers.

According to Detective Inspector Lance Vercoe, “The offenders have caused tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of damage to the property, breaking through doors and walls in order to grow the cannabis.”

“Members of the public who seek to rent their properties should be extremely wary of renting their properties out privately and should consider taking the appropriate steps to protect your property.”
