A potential legislative vote for marijuana could be on March 25th in New Jersey but Governor Phil Murphy said this week that the measure still did not have enough votes to pass.

“This is still going to be close,” Murphy said. “We’re not there yet.”

The last week has been spent by Murphy as well as legislative leaders trying to convince lawmakers to support the measure.

“I think we’re moving people,” said Murphy.

Bills are already listed on the board for both the Senate and Assembly sessions scheduled for Monday.

If the bill doesn’t pass on Monday, Governor Murphy has said that he would likely take executive action and call for new medical marijuana licenses.
