The first medical marijuana dispensary to open in North Dakota, The Botanical, at 4302 13th Ave. S., will have a delayed opening by one day.

The dispensary is expected to open on Friday March 1st, and will open at 10 a.m.
“We apologize for any inconvenience the one-day delay in opening may cause qualifying patients and designated caregivers,” said Jason Wahl, director of the Division of Medical Marijuana.

According to Wahl, the City of Fargo had to complete its final inspection and issue an occupancy certificate, which was approved Wednesday.

He added that “although we have seen in other states that most openings were limited to only dried leaves and flowers, we are excited that multiple product types will be available at the dispensary on opening day, including the dried leaves and flowers, vaporizing pens and (a concentrate called) shatter. Even more product types will be available in the next few weeks.”

Wahl has said that in order for a qualifying patient or designated caregiver to enter the display area of a dispensary, they must have their registry identification card. More than 130 registry identification cards have been issued to qualifying patients and designated caregivers.
