Ohio has announced 56 sites where medical marijuana will be available for sale once it becomes legal in the fall. The state’s 2016 medical marijuana law says the medical marijuana program must start September 8th.

The locations include the cities of Cleveland, Lakewood, Elyria, Garfield Heights, Lorain, Akron, Wickliffe, and Painseville Township.

The sites were awarded provisional dispensary licenses from the Ohio Board of Pharmacy that give the stores six months to meet state operaetion requirements. The state had received a total of 376 applications.

Out of 31 geographic districts, three will not have dispensaries because the state had received no applications or there were no qualifying applicant.
