The Canadian province of Ottawa is asking its residents for their thoughts on legal cannabis retail stores in the city.

The residents have been invited to complete a survey that is on the ottawa.ca website starting on Thursday, on whether legal cannabis shops should be allowed in the city.

The survey will run until November 7th. Paper copies are also available at the city’s Client Service Centres.

With the province’s new regulations, municipalities have until Jan. 22, 2019 to decide whether to allow cannabis stores to operate on their territory, with the stores allowed to begin operations on April 1, 2019.

gThe results from the survey will help the City Council’s decision on whether or not to permit the stores.
