This month several cannabis dispensaries in the state of Michigan have received rapper Lil Wayne’s new cannabis line.

The line, which is called GKUA Ultra Premium, debuted in stores this past Friday. The line offers various products and strains at select Michigan dispensaries.

It was this past December that GKUA Inc. had a launch in California that went successfully. The brand said it feels Michigan’s values match the community and thus expanded to the state.

“We are thrilled to expand GKUA Ultra Premium into the Michigan community, ensuring residents have access to the world’s-best cannabis products,” Beau Golob, president and co-founder of GKUA Inc, said in a news release.

“Working with Lil Wayne is an honor, and we’ve found success in California through his unique vision of curating a premium line of products that inspires people and feeds their creativity. We’re sure those values will resonate with the residents of Michigan, a state known for its deep love of music and artistry.”

“GKUA is Weezy’s Weed. It’s what I love, and now I’m sharing what I love with the people of Michigan,” said Lil Wayne in the news release. “These days everyone could use some help to feel inspired.”

Rapper and reality television star Lil Twist will be traveling to dispensaries in metro Detroit to meet fans and host a giveaway. The tour will take place Oct. 10 at House of Dank on 8 Mile in Detroit, Herbology Cannabis Co. in River Rouge and at The Clinic in Center Line.

“We’re really excited,” said TJ, the owner of Herbology Cannabis Co. and Herbal Healing Provisioning. “It’s nice that the industry is at this point that we can have nice celebrity endorsements and products. It’s nice for the overall hype and people are definitely going to love it.”

Herbology Cannabis Co. will host T-shirt giveaways, cannabis sales and a small meet-and-greet with signed posters at the event. TJ said that the event would be a lot larger if there wasn’t a pandemic.
