The capital of California just hosted its very first legal marijuana fest.
Sacramento held the High Times Cannabis Cup at the Cal Expo on Friday, which brought thousands of gatherers to the very first permitted event in California that allows the use of recreational marijuana.
According to the organizers of the event, as many as 15,000 people could attend the two-day festival.
Music arts such as Lil Wayne, Lauryn Hill, Cypress Hill, Rick Ross, and Ludacris are scheduled to perform.
The Sacramento City Council approved a license for the on-site consumption and sales in an overwhelming 6-2 vote this Tuesday.
According to Joe Devlin, Sacramento’s chief of cannabis policy, event would generate more than $200,000 in tax revenue. He said, High Times “has a distinguished track record of hosting safe, successful and compliant cannabis events.”
