At 100 feet long and using 1,000 grams of marijuana, a huge joint was showcased in Massachusetts recently with people bursting into applause at its unveil.

The announcer asked at just a little after 4:20pm on Saturday at the Harvest Cup at the DCU Center, “Who wants to see a really big joint?”

Thousands were at the DCU Center over the weekend to celebrate the inaugural THC which was sponsored by the Massachusetts Grower Advocacy Council, MassCann/NORML and the Massachusetts Patient Advocacy Alliance.

As part of a competition there was a contest drawing 73 entries in six different categories which included: edibles, flower, concentrates, nonsolvents, topicals, and oils and tincture.

Peter Bernard, president of the Massachusetts Grower Advocacy Council. “We’re coming out of the ‘pot closet,’ so to speak.”

He said, “What we’re hoping to get out of it is a little bit of celebration to bring this out of the shadows and let the average Joe know this is not just some room that stinks like patchouli and is filled with hippies.”
