Washington D.C.’s medical cannabis sales tax holiday is in full swing through April 24.

Many cannabis users may be very excited as this means during the 10-day sales tax holiday, the city’s 6% sales tax will be waived on medical cannabis products, excluding paraphernalia, purchased from all of D.C.’s seven licensed dispensaries.
In order to take part in the deal, residents can enroll or renew their medical cannabis registration free of charge through the last day of the tax holiday.

You can submit an application online or by email here.

Applicants can also take advantage of the walk-in registration available Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. Those who submit complete applications will receive their digital and physical registration during their visit.

Applicants 65 or older must self-certify that they will only use cannabis purchased from a D.C. dispensary for medical purposes in lieu of securing a recommendation from their healthcare provider.
