A cannabis company called Golden Leaf Holdings has some big endeavors in the marijuana industry.

The company has a goal of becoming the Starbucks, or McDonald’s of marijuana. Golden Leaf’s CEO William Simpson remarked, “Like Starbucks is to coffee, we believe Chalice will be to cannabis.”

So far the company has opened a chain of marijuana stores in the state of Oregon that are called Chalice Farms.

BlackShire Capital has recently signed a letter of intent to franchise the model. The venture capital firm’s CEO Kevin Reed said the idea is to launch 35 to 45 stores in the next two years.

“We believe that we’re going to build something that will be around forever,” Simpson said. “It’ll be part of the household names when people think of cannabis in 20 years.”
