There is no cure for coronavirus but there are ways to help ease certain symptoms of the flu and cannabis is one of them.

No research has yet to present itself on how marijuana can help someone with COVID-19, but there are some ways that cannabis can offer great medical benefits to someone who is sick.

When it comes to the regular flu, CBD, one of the main components of marijuana, has been said to help support a person’s immune system and also ease symptoms. It can also act as a pain reducer and a sleep aid.

“CBD has been found to act as an immune system modulator,” says Anna Symonds, director of East Fork Cultivars’ CBD Certified program. “This means that it’s like a thermostat—it can turn the level of activity down or up, depending on the body’s needs.”

This doesn’t mean start smoking a lot of weed. You will still need to wash your hands a lot, stay away from large crowds and stay inside if you are sick so you don’t pass it on to others.
