Ohio dispensaries started selling medical marijuana this week and the numbers are in.

Medical marijuana finally went on sale on Wednesday and the four dispensaries that were open sold $75,000 worth of the drug that day.

According to the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program, the total volume of products sold was 8.7 pounds.

Each dispensary however is over three hours outside of Cincinnati. Fortunately, almost 60 medical marijuana dispensaries will be open statewide, including seven in Greater Cincinnati soon.

Medical marijuana patients in the state need to register in order to purchase cannabis products like oils, edibles and lotions. In order to register they will need a recommendation from a certified physician, complete the email form and pay the $50 fee.
